NSDC is a first-of-its-kind Public Private Partnership (PPP) in India set up to facilitate the development and upgrading of the skills of the growing Indian workforce through skill training programmes. A large part of the organisation’s efforts are directed at the private sector and towards developing the skills in the unorganised sector in India. NSDC supports skill development efforts, especially in the unorganised sector in India by funding skill training and development programmes. It also engages in advocacy and training programmes, in-depth research to discover skill gaps in the Indian workforce, and developing accreditation norms. more>>
Headed by Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) was created for the first time in the country by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi on 27th May 2014 to prioritize vocational training of youth. Skill development/vocational training is being perceived in this new dispensation as a rational, viable, long-term solution to the challenges of poverty and unemployment prevailing in the country. The Ministry works in coordination with several other ministries, to conceive and execute plans to make the youth employable in the domestic/international organized industrial sector. The Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship is responsible for co-ordination of all skill development efforts across the country, removal of disconnect between demand and supply of skilled manpower, building the vocational and technical training framework, skill up-gradation, building of new skills, and innovative thinking for jobs. The MSDE is working towards achieving the target of skilling/up-skilling 500million individuals by 2022.The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with its 200+ training partner network (among whom Globsyn Skill Development (P) Limited features significantly) delivers Sector Skill Council (SSC) approved, National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned skills training to men and women across India. It is the mandate of the Skills Ministry to conceive of measures to build and sustain this ecosystem.
On 15th July, which has been designated as ‘The World Skills Day’, the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ (PMKVY), the flag-ship scheme for the Government’s ‘Skill India’ campaign. Skill development has received the necessary attention it deserves following the formulation of the National Skill India Mission and the revision of the Skills Policy. The Skills Policy has been revised to address the gap that exists in the labour market between the huge demand for skilled labour and its scanty supply. more>>
Globsyn’s Corporate Social Responsibility is tied to community welfare though skills training. The Globsyn Skills’ training program under CSR, seeks to make underprivileged unskilled and/or semi-skilled individuals skilled members of the workforce such that they are able to earn better wages that contributes in improving their quality of life. The training sectors covered include Computer Programming, Retail, BFSI, Telecom, Automotive, Hospitality and Tourism. The entire cost of the training is borne by Globsyn Skills. more>>
